Why should I buy the LRB2?

Dry heat bain marie are an interesting development of the original wet heat, or water bath, bain marie. As the name “dry heat” implies, hot water isn’t used to maintain food temperature, but rather the element simply heats the air itself surrounding the food container. This brings a number of advantages: heat up tends to be quicker, so less electricity is used for cheaper bills, and also dry heat is less labour intensive. There’s no need to keep a water bath topped up during service, and no need to drain and change the water either. Having said that, if the bain marie is used primarily for particularly delicate sauces like hollandaise or béarnaise, or even custards, then a wet heat unit will generally perform better, because of the warm, moist environment it creates.

The LRB2 is a stylish and compact dry heat bain marie that will maintain pre cooked foods at a nice and hot serving temperature for up to 2 hours; and it will do this without any drying out or loss of the food’s texture or flavour. This is a double round pot bain marie; each pot has a capacity of 4.5 litres and the stainless steel pots and lids are supplied with the appliance. The highly attractive stainless steel finish of the bain marie makes it perfect for front of house use, and it’s great for hot buffet lines, self service counters and outside hospitality events. This unit is popular with smaller catering businesses such as cafes, takeaways, pizzerias and fast food outlets, as well as being used as stand by capacity during busier periods in larger establishments. It is ideal for safely holding pasta, cheese or apple sauces, curries, gravies, soups, porridge and a whole host of other foodstuffs including hot condiments.

This bain marie is from Lincat, the leading UK manufacturer of commercial catering equipment. Lincat now has a worldwide reputation, based firmly on their trademark principles of high quality workmanship, and functional, stylish products designed for complete reliability and long service life. Each product leaving the factory has a serial plate with details of the individual assembler or production cell.

The electrical power rating of this bain marie is 500W and the appliance is plug-in; a 13A plug and supply cord are ready fitted. Using the bain marie is straightforward: just switch on and turn the control knob to the required temperature setting. Allow the unit to heat up and then add the hot food or sauce. The temperature control is adjustable for versatility.

The external dimensions of the LRB2 are 245mm(H) x 565(W) x 400mm(D) and it has a net weight of 12 kilos. Anti slip rubber feet are fitted for added stability, and it can be placed on any suitable work surface or counter. It is part of Lincat’s popular Lynx 400 range of commercial catering equipment. The range includes wet heat bain marie, as well as dry heat, with varying capacities. Bain marie using gastronorm dishes and lids are also available.

Advantages of leasing

  • Significant tax benefits – For private organisations payments are fully tax deductible unlike using cash.
  • Low, fixed payments allow easy budgeting throughout the term
  • Spread the cost of your purchases in line with the return on the investment
  • Make your capital work for you – Rather than sink valuable cash into depreciating assets, deploy it elsewhere for higher returns
  • Totally flexible, a lease allows you to determine the term, how frequently you pay and can be upgraded or changed throughout.
  • Manage obsolescence and refresh assets strategically rather than face unbudgeted large write offs.
  • Make investment decisions based upon your needs and not limited by constrained budgets
  • Reduce dependency on your primary funder(s) – Your existing credit lines remain unaffected and you will have access to over 20 specialist asset funders
  • Spread the cost of the VAT which is paid in instalments rather than as a lump sum up-front.
  • Turnkey funding – Build all your costs such as delivery, extended warranties etc into the lease to maximise your benefits even further
