Plain top hot cupboards are a good hot holding storage option as part of a commercial kitchen cookline, as they can be used as a worksurface or as a base for another countertop appliances such as fryers, hob sets or commercial microwaves. Models with pass through design (can be accessed from either side) are good options situated between chef areas and washing up areas, so kitchen porters can stock plates up and chefs can get access to them with impediment.

Hot cupboards can be used to maintain the temperature of plated meals immediately before service or as storage to keep crockery warm before hot food is plated up.
