Who are we?
This website is owned by JJ Martin (Catering Appliance Superstore) Ltd, and you can find us registered at Mintsfeet Road South, Mintsfeet Industrial Estate, Kendal, Cumbria, UK, LA9 6ND. We are a fully registered company, our number is No 8292604 and we've been established for over 40 years.
Business to Business
J J Martin (Catering Appliance Superstore) Ltd are suppliers of catering equipment and services to commercial customers and all sales are considered a business to business contract.
We try as hard as possible to let you know the availability of an item on the website. However, there may be an occasion when a product is not available and this is not reflected on the site. If this is the case, we will get in touch with you as soon as possible to resolve the issue and discuss an alternative solution such as; when it will be back in stock, a similarly specced product or simply refund your order so that you can swiftly order the product elsewhere where the item may be in stock.
Suitability of the Goods
Goods are not supplied on a trial basis. It is your responsibility to ensure that the goods that you order are suitable for your requirements and the purpose for which you intend to use them before you place your order. It is your responsibility to ensure that drainage and all power supplies and connections are appropriate for the goods supplied and that the water softeners are fitted in hard water areas. All gas powered goods must be fitted by a GAS SAFE approved fitter and all electrical goods by a qualified fitter. JJ Martin CAS Ltd will accept no liability for damage to goods or any other liability or loss caused by incorrect fitting or installation.
We take all reasonable care to ensure that all descriptions, details and specifications are accurate. However, all sizes, colours, dimensions and measurements should be treated as being approximate. Full detailed specifications and further advice are available on request.
You must not use, fit or install any damaged or incorrectly supplied goods whether notified to us or not. If you do, you will be deemed to have accepted the goods and JJ Martin will accept no further responsibility in relation to such goods.
All transactions on the JJ Martin (Catering Appliance Superstore) Ltd website go through SagePay's merchant gateway, a world leading secure payment service. Warranties and Liability
If you come across any faults or issues with your product after you have purchased it, your first port of call should be the comprehensive user manuals that we provide. You can also contact the manufacturer directly or get in touch with JJ Martin (Catering Appliance Superstore) Ltd if the troubleshooting guides offer no solutions.

Warranty may be invalidated if a non manufacturer approved engineer attends, inspects or repairs a product.
In the event of a failure or breakdown of the goods supplied within the warranty period you must inform us as soon as you become aware of the defect or failure and in any event before the expiry of the warranty period. J J Martin CAS Ltd will not accept responsibilty for any defect or failure of the goods notified after the expiry of the warranty period whenever the defect or failure occured.
JJ Martin (Catering Appliance Superstore) Ltd's product warranty stated on the website product page, order confirmation email and invoice email overrides any warranty details printed in a manufacturers brochure or found on any other external media including but not limited to a product manufacturers website or brochure.
Goods reported faulty within the specified warranty period may be repaired, exchanged or replaced. Should the unit be replaced only the remaining unexpired proportion of the warranty will be transferred to the new unit.
We reserve the right to take a debit or credit card or other type of payment in advance of arranging a warranty service call. The payment will be refunded if the fault is covered by the manufacturers warranty but will be retained if the product fault or defect is not covered. Examples of exclusions include, but are not limited to; incorrect installation, damage, misuse or lack of maintenance including descaling and cleaning.
JJ Martin (Catering Appliance Superstore) Ltd is not liable for any lost profits or business interruption that may have directly, indirectly or incidentally arisen from a faulty or defected unit. It is the customers responsibility to plan and prepare for such instances.
The Customer agrees that J J Martin CAS Ltd will not be liable for any losses or damage suffered by the Customer including but not limited to damage to neighbouring or connected items or premises, consequential loss, loss of business, business interuption or loss of time due to the use or purchase of the Goods by the Customer. J J Martin CAS Ltd will not be liable for any additional damage caused by the Customer's failure to report a fault or defect in good time or failure to provide reasonable access to the Goods for repairs, service or engineer visits. Nothing in this agreement shall exclude J J Martin CAS Ltd statutory liability for injury or death.
Manufacturers warranty is only valid for equipment installed in mainland UK premises
Parts only warranty
A parts only warranty allows you to use your own sourced fully qualified engineer (at your own cost) to assess the problem. This must be followed by a full engineers report sent back to ourselves, which we will then forward onto the product manufacturer. Once approved by the manufacturer the parts required will be sent to your desired location. The manufacturer requests that the defective parts are to be sent back on repair of the unit. Failure to send these defective parts back is unacceptable and will result in a full invoice for the replacement parts.
For equipment installed into a mobile catering unit, a non mainland UK premises or an offshore site will invalidate the standard manufacturers warranty stated on our product pages within this website. In some instances the manufacturers warranty may be limited to a parts only warranty. Please call our office for further information.
Back to base warranty
Customers must arrange for any faulty unit(s) to be returned to the manufacturer for repair when the items are covered by a back-to-base warranty. Please ensure that the item(s) are well packaged as neither JJ Martin (Catering Appliance Superstore) Ltd nor the manufacturer will accept any responsibility for any loss or damage caused due to poor packaging when the item is in transit.
For all Robot Coupe goods ordered we will make the necessary arrangements for faulty items to be returned to the manufacturer for repair where the items are covered by a manufacturers back-to-base warranty.
Please contact JJ Martin (Catering Appliance Superstore) Ltd to obtain a returns number for your package from the manufacturer. You will need to complete our warranty request form, which requires your signature and an original invoice number. This can be downloaded here (warranty form).

We do as much as possible to ensure that products are delivered to you on time and that you will receive them by the estimated delivery date on the website. However, JJ Martin (Catering Appliance Superstore) Ltd is not liable for any delays.
Delivery will be to kerbside only unless prior arrangements have been made. The delivery person/driver may at his/her discretion assist with delivering the goods to a location within the premises nominated by the customer, at the customers sole risk.
Next working day delivery is NOT guaranteed.
Deliveries take place between the hours of 8am-6pm Monday to Friday.
For large items the chosen delivery address must be accessible by an 18 ton lorry, please contact JJ Martin (Catering Appliance Superstore) Ltd if your site has any access restrictions. Failure to disclose such information may result in extra costs being incurred by a failed/aborted delivery.
When a product is delivered to you, the first thing you must do is inspect the goods for any damage. Failure to check the goods and document any damage with the driver will result in a claim for damage being rejected. Signing unexamined is not acceptable. In the event that the driver will not wait for you to inspect the goods, please sign for as 'Damaged'. Once signed as damaged, you must report the damage to JJ Martin (Catering Appliance Superstore) Ltd in writing within 24 hours to make a claim. If an item has been installed this would deem the product being accepted by the customer and claims for damages may also be rejected.
The buyer must inspect the received goods immediately upon delivery for possible deviations with what has been agreed on. Any complaints regarding the delivered goods must be submitted to Catering Appliance Superstore in writing within 24 hours of delivery. After the expiration of the terms, the delivery shall be deemed irrevocably and unconditionally accepted by the buyer.
Delivery does not include the removal of old units or disposal of packaging materials (pallet, wrapping etc...). Collection and disposal of old units can be selected on a number of our products, in such cases where this service has been requested you must ensure that the items have been unplugged, disconnected, emptied and made ready for collection outside of the premises. If the collection fails you will still be invoiced the full amount and further collection charges may apply should you wish to rearrange the collection and disposal.
We will charge a redelivery fee if no one is available on site to take delivery of the goods.
A 25% restocking fee of the items value will be charged if delivery fails due to any of the points above, or if the product is returned and is not faulty. Delivery charges will not be refunded/credited. Please note that once an order has been placed and despatched the restocking fee will still apply.
Please DO NOT book any fitters or installers of the equipment ordered until after the goods have been delivered and inspected by yourself. We will not take any responsibility for any costs incurred as a result of arranging this in advance of delivery.
Customised / made to order goods
When customised or bespoke goods are ordered we will not accept ANY returns. You are responsible for ordering suitable goods for your requirements. If however the goods are damaged, you may be able to make a claim against the manufacturer or supplier if you have inspected and signed the goods as damaged upon delivery. No claims against damage will be accepted if you have signed for goods without indicating any damage.
Goods sold in the UK mainland may be returned at the customers own cost for a refund providing the product(s) are unused and in their original packaging (this includes any laser film/pallet). This excludes customised / made to order goods (see above).
The restocking charge for returned items is 25% of the full invoiced amount. Delivery charges will not be refunded/credited.
All returns must be made in writing, and submitted by email, the item must also be received back within 14 days from date of delivery.
If the goods are in stock and the customer delays shipment beyond 14 days and subsequently cancels the order, a 25% cancellation fee will be charged.
Refunds will only be paid once the returned goods have been inspected and after deduction of any restocking charges have been made. We will also deduct any costs for repairing any damage or replacing any missing components that were supplied with the original order.
Please do not arrange your return until you have received a return address, we do not accept returns at our head office address.
Retention of Title
Notwithstanding that the goods have been delivered and accepted by you the ownership or legal title to the goods will not pass to you until you have paid in full for the goods supplied and there are no other sums of money due from you to J J Martin Catering Appliance Superstore. Until this time you will store or mark or keep the goods supplied in such a way as to make them clearly identifiable as our property.
Until such time all sums due to J J Martin Catering Appliance Superstore have been paid in full you will at J J Martins request deliver up the goods and you acknowledge that J J Martin Catering Appliance Superstore will be entitled to enter any premises owned or occupied or controlled by you where the goods are situated for the purpose of recovering and repossessing the goods.
