Electric Salamander Grills

An electric salamander grill uses high power heat elements to generate grill temperatures. These grills work by radiating heat rather than bringing food into direct contact with a conducting hot plate (like in a chargrill or a griddle). Temperature can be easily controlled by adjusting the dial and also by varying the shelf position of the cooking rack to bring the food closer to the heat source (adjustable shelf positions also allow different thicknesses of food to be cooked effectively).

Electric salamander grills come in a variety of sizes and power outputs, from a number of well respected manufacturers such as Lincat, Falcon, Parry and many more. One advantage of some electric salamander grills over their gas counterparts is that they may have dual heating elements, above and below, for more rapid and even cooking.
