The internal walls are food safe and consist of insulated polyurethane panels. This walk in fridge from Foster’s Proline range is designed for the bulk high volume storage of refrigerated foods. For many catering businesses a stand alone cold room offers a more effective solution to having multiple upright and counter fridges in the kitchen and prep areas - both in terms of cost and space.

Cold rooms such as the PL1818SH have an integral condenser system so there is no need for ducting, piping or extensive installation - everything is built in, it’s compact, convenient and quick. The unit has  a power rating of 600W and it must be hardwired by a qualified electrician.

This cold room has a volume capacity of 7.03 cubic metres and external dimensions of 2300mm(h) x 1800mm(w) x 1860mm(d). It can be installed and running in just one day. The operating temperature is +1°C to +4°C and there is a fully programmable control panel and digital display and the cold room will perform well in ambient temperatures up to 32°C.

The cold room has a white exterior with 75mm thick internal food safe laminate surfaces that are easy to keep clean. Shelving is available optionally. It comes with internal lighting as standard. The net weight of the cold room is 475 kilos and it is covered with the manufacturer’s 1 year parts and labour warranty.

Cold rooms with remote refrigeration systems are more complex and expensive to install - requiring ducting and piping - but they have a number of benefits in the longer term; these include lower running costs and a quieter, cooler environment around the cold room itself.
