Why should I buy the EP1/4M?

The EP1/4M from Foster is a 4 door refrigerated storage and preparation counter specifically for meat with a stainless steel worktop for on the spot food and ingredient preparation. The total internal volume of the unit is 585 litres and the countertop space is 2320 mm x 700 mm. This appliance is ideal for larger catering businesses who need this level of efficient chilled storage capacity and the work space to create and prepare simple or complex dishes, desserts, salads, wraps, pizza and many other foodstuffs.

The operating temperature range is -2 °C to +2 °C and the unit will function efficiently even at the high ambient temperatures which can occur in working kitchens. This unit is fitted with robust 80 mm castors as standard so it can be readily positioned where it’s needed most. Optional height adjustable legs are available in 100 mm or 150 mm sizes. The dimensions of the appliance are 865 mm (h) x 2320 mm (w) x 700 mm (d) - with fully opened doors the depth is 1113 mm. The net weight is 162.5 kilos with a packed weight for shipping of 191.84 kilos. It’s important that adequate airflow is maintained around the freezer counter, with airspace of 150 mm; this allows the unit to function at its most efficient. So when planning your kitchen configuration, remember to allow for this. The unit requires a standard plug socket to operate, and a 13 amp plug and supply cord is ready fitted.

Today’s commercial caterers need fast and convenient access to refrigerated storage capacity, and making the most of usable space in the commercial kitchen is critical for many caterers. As well as being energy efficient, this meat fridge and food prep counter is labour efficient too. This unit is GN compatible so it’s easy to transfer ingredients and prepared meals or dishes from one appliance to another, for example to bains marie or an oven.

The unit is robustly constructed from high grade 304 stainless steel with an aluminium interior; stainless steel interiors are available as options. 8 shelves are supplied as standard with GN 1/1 shelves and extra stainless steel shelves available.

The concealed refrigeration system optimises capacity and provides an attractive yet functional exterior to the unit. The unit operates quietly with a decibel rating of 66.8 Dba at 1 metre. The control panel is touch sensitive and unlit until activated.

This appliance is part of Foster’s Eco Pro G2 range which offers considerable advances in technology to harness the needs of today’s professional commercial caterers, both in terms of commitment to food safety standards and in providing excellent quality appliances at competitive prices. Lower energy use and also lower carbon emissions mean cash savings and a greener environment.

The Airlines ventilation system cuts compressor running times by 15%, while an energy saving hydrocarbon refrigerant (R290) is available as standard at no extra cost. Optimum levels of insulation of 60 mm are in place throughout the refrigerator.
