An important ingredient in the skin technology is Silicon Carbonide (SiC), which is well known in nature for its strength. We used chemically synthesized SiC particles to achieve a hardness that is almost equal to diamonds. In the Teflon Profile Midcoat, the SiC particles aggregate into little clusters, forming the innovative surface texture that gives the non-stick coating and scratch resistance.
